Three people were killed and five others have gone missing as a landslide hit Lalighat Bazaar of Kotwada-6 in the district on early Friday. The deceased have been identified as Dhanamati Tamata of Syna-2, Hira Tiruwa of Syna-5 and Laxman Bhandari of Dhaulagoha, Police Inspector Tek Jora told Repblica Online. Five have gone missing in the landslide. Those missing in the landslide are Sanjite Tamata, 50, of Syuna-2, Shrista Bam, daughter of Takka Bam of Thirpu-5, Mani Subedi, 50 of Raku-2 The landslide triggered by a heavy rain on Thursday night swept away over 20 houses of the Lalighat Bazaar. According to police only three among those buried in the landslide have been identified. A search rescue work for those missing in the landlide is underway. Eight people are injured in the monsoon-induced disaster, said DSP Kishan Singh Budal.and Aja Sarki's four-month-old son of Bajura

"This is not only the unity among the Maoists but also a new kind of national unity," the 61-year-old former prime minister said. "This marks the unity among the oppressed and exploited classes," he said.

Traffic movement in the Capital has been affected due to a demonstration of the Federal Alliance that began this morning. Hundreds of cadres of the Alliance had picketed Singha Darbar, the central government complex, this morning. Cadres of 30 parties associated with the Alliance are protesting at Hanumansthan and Maitighar Mandala, the southeastern and southwestern points outside Singha Darbar respectively. The Parliament on Friday endorsed the government's Policy and Program for the fiscal year 2016/2017 by a majority. President Bidya Bhandari on May 8 had presented the Policy and Program in parliament. Nepali Congress, Nepal Workers and Peasants Party and Khambuwan National Party had earlier registered proposals to amend the Policy and Program but they were rejected by a parliamentary majority. Earlier on Friday, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli had responded to the queries and concerns raised by the lawmakers regarding the Policy and Program. Addressing the Parliament, PM Oli reiterated that there are no constitutional difficulties for holding the long overdue local elections. "Holding local elections is the current need. As the task of restructuring the local bodies will take some time, we should not delay to fill the vacuum created by the absence of people's representatives," said PM. "As the transitional provisions of the constitution have clearly mentioned about the local elections, there is no constitutional question on holding the election," he added.
